Thirsty Souls: Glamping Around the World

This week we're thirsty for a regal retreat. Getting back to nature doesn't have to mean roughing it; you can glamp your way around the world as long as you've got a passport and a plan.

1. Wolwedans Dunes Lodge, NamibRand Nature Reserve, Maltahohe, Namibia

Look, we get it. A wooden desert chalet on a private African reserve has been on your wishlist for a while.  So go ahead and splurge on a luxury vacay that includes an enchanted lodge, a chance to safari, and a photo op day at the Skeleton Coast. You've earned it!

2. Kolarbyn Eco-Lodge, near Skinnskatteberg, Sweden

Book a forest hut and bring a copy of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo for some private downtime in Sweden. Hike the two mile trek to Skärsjön lake and keep an eye out for local wildlife by day - then lay under the Northern Lights by night. An unforgettable experience on top of the world is just what the doctor ordered.

3. Lucky Lake Hostel, outside of Amsterdam

Meet a new BFF while swimming, kayaking, and biking in the Dutch countryside amid a sea of fellow travelers and charming retro-styled caravans, cabins, and dorms. This is one study-abroad experience you won't get through your local U.

4. Wagon Station Encampment, Joshua Tree, CA

Rent a pod in this communal encampment for a creative recharge in our favorite corner of Cali. We'll be there raising a glass of Cactus Water to the desert sun.

5. ToreTore Village, Shirahama, Japan

Check Asia off your bucket list with this dome shaped hotel in western Japan - just a short jaunt from some incredible hot springs and a stunning quartz-sand beach.

Revel in the beauty of Mexican wine country with a long weekend in an elevated, independent room made of corten steel. Every superwoman needs a fortress of solitude and a glass of vino!

7. Cave B Inn, Quincy, Washington

Head to the Cave B Estate Winery for a tasting, the Gorge Amphitheater for a show, and then retire to your choice of a private Cliffehouse, a cave-like Cavern Room, or a rustic Desert Yurt.  A girl likes to have options!

We never leave home without our glam squad. The leader of the pack?  Our secret skincare weapon: CALIWATER CACTUS WATER!
