Thirsty Souls: Work Out With A Purpose

This week we're thirsty for a chance to work out with a purpose. Make your next sweat count by moving and grooving for the greater good with one of these lovely charities.

1) Pedal On The Pier

When we spin, kids win.

Pedal on the Pier, an annual community fundraiser at the Santa Monica Pier, features over 100 stationary bikes, 400+ riders, and a sensational view of the Pacific Ocean.  POTP supports the Harold Robinson Foundation, which sends impoverished children from the Los Angeles area on weekend camp retreats that are designed to strengthen confidence and independence, build character, and develop leadership skills.

CALIWATER is the title sponsor this year, and we couldn't be more stoked to pedal with a purpose. Come out this Sunday, June 5, to cheer on the riders, jam with the bands, and hydrate with Cactus Water. You may even get inspired to join in and pedal next year!

2) PCI Walk For Water

In many parts of the world, women and children spend up to six hours a day searching for and collecting water - a commitment that often interferes with their chances at an education. Walk a few miles (3.1 to be exact) in their shoes by completing this charity 5K while carrying buckets of water, and you'll never take your faucet for granted again. The money raised by the Walk supports PCI's water and sanitation programs, which are aimed at ending global poverty.

3) Dance Marathons - Children's Miracle Network

Shimmy, shake, twist and shout your way to a healthier body AND be part of something miraculous by participating in a CMN Dance Marathon.  The first marathon took place in 1991 at Indiana University, and CMN has been raising funds for local children's hospitals via dancing on college campuses ever since. We're walkin' on sunshine just thinking about this one...

4) Muck Fest MS

We're not afraid to get a little dirty, especially if it's for a good cause. With 5K events across the country (from LA to Boston and everywhere in between), you can easily find a muddy, obstacle-filled course near you!

Race, donate, or volunteer, but definitely get involved. 100% of fundraising dollars benefit the National Multiple Sclerosis Society to help accelerate scientific research on the disease and to support individuals living with MS.

5) Golf Fore Good

Bring your best swing to this annual women's golf tournament, and you're sure to have a winning time in Napa Valley with tasty food, lots of fun, and a few new friends. The Bay-area event, sponsored by Horizons Foundation, raises funds to support organizations that work to secure the rights, meet the needs, and celebrate the lives of LGBT people. Here's to your first hole-in-one!

We're made in LA, and we believe in giving back to LA. See you Sunday at The Pier!
