Thirsty Souls: Cactus Foodie Guide

This week we're thirsty for a prickly pear parade. Follow our Cactus Foodie Guide across this great land for a uniquely American road trip.

1. Born & Glazed - Scottsdale, AZ

Who needs Boston Cream when Prickly Pear donuts are a thing? That's what we call a reason to get out of bed in the morning!

2. Big Bend Brewing - Alpine, TX

Big Bend's unique prickly pear ale is called El Corazon, and it's winning hearts all across Texas.  Plus, when's the last time you had a reddish-pink beer?

3. Elado Icecream - Pico Rivera & Anaheim, CA

If you're looking for authentic Mexican-style ice cream, look no further than Elado.

Hmmm....Prickly Pear in a waffle cone, Creamy Churro with chocolate syrup, or Guava Dulce with extra whipped cream? Decisions, decisions, decisions!

4. Cowboy Club - Sedona, AZ

Move over potatoes!  These flash fried cactus strips are served with prickly pear dipping sauce and are our new fave sidekick for that lunchtime burger. What a wonderful world we live in!

5. Alexandra's Macarons - Seattle, WA

A little dash of Southwestern cactus fruit puts a prickly new twist on this classic French treat. Order a few "a la carte" or take some home and go "a la mode." You've got carte blanche!

Our favorite beverage for washing it all down? CALIWATER Cactus Water, of course!
