Thirsty Souls: May Flowers

This week we're thirsty for a place to blossom. These flower fields comprise Mother Nature's most whimsical, charming Spring collection yet!

1. Antelope Valley California Poppy Reserve

This gem of the Mojave Desert grassland habitat is a wildflower wonderland. Meander through the 8 miles of trails and take in the beauty, but don't pick the wildflowers. Leave them for someone else to enjoy!

2. Lompoc Valley

Stop and smell the larkspur, delphinium, and bells of Ireland in this vibrant valley 3 hours north of LA. Day trip, anyone?!?

3. Shell Creek Road Meadows

This 10 mile stretch in Central California is named for the fossilized shells that are exposed in the surrounding hills, and it also happens to be home to some pretty stellar buds like owl clovers, shooting stars, and lupines.

What are your must-haves for this outing? Camera, yoga mat, open heart!

4. The Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch

Pop the question, host a flowery fete, or say "I do" in these enchanting fields for a romantic weekend worth blushing about. ๐ŸŒธ

5. Anza-Borrego Desert State Park

Anza-Borrego is one happening place; you can head out on a guided walk, take a class on nature journaling, or attend a workshop on solar cooking.  Of course, you can always do nothing instead if that's what your soul needs. Just stop and breathe!
